DogAcademy House is a shelter (hotel) for dogs in Koutselio, Ioannina. It operates legally free from encumbrances, restrictive measures or any other burden or commitment and holds an operating license from the Epirus Region veterinary service with protocol number 8276/26.5.2015. The company is also a member of the Panhellenic Association of Dog Habitats
DogAcademy House is a monopoly as a legal business in the whole of North-West Greece, while at the same time it is placed in an advantageous position on the map, as it is located next to the junction of 2 main road arteries of the country, Egnatia and Ionia Street. The result of this advantage is that the company has a clientele from almost all of mainland Greece with over 600 active customers.
The hotel has gained an excellent reputation both for its facilities and for the management of dogs, as a result of which our customers are highly satisfied, repeatedly request our services and recommend us. As our reputation spreads beyond the confines of our small town we see high demand during high traffic periods resulting in a volume of customers not being served, which is a clear indication that the business has the ability to expand. The possibility of expanding the facilities is another 145 sq.m. coverage.
The spaces (interior – exterior) are configured in such a way as to allow the use of the already existing facilities for multiple services. DogAcademy House is housed in a 4202.03 sq.m. farm. in Koutselio of Ioannina, next to the junction "Katsikas - Tzoumerka" of Egnatia Street.
These are four ground-floor buildings that are the dogs' habitat and accommodate up to 24 dogs.
In the first building 70.50 sq.m. houses the necessary functions for the stableman, i.e. the administration and management office, living room kitchen, bedroom, a bathroom, as well as a warehouse.
The second building, with an area of 26.70 m2, will house the food and material warehouse and the dogs' bathroom with hot and cold water installation, as well as a cleaning area for the animals.
The accommodation rooms for guest animals (cells) are organized in two units - buildings of 10 cells and an area of 89.30 sq.m. each, for the better operation of the hostel.
The facilities have been built to EU specifications.
Each dog has its own room with its own yard.
The dimensions of the rooms vary, to meet the needs of all sizes of dogs.
There is heating and thermal insulation of the entire building, given the heavy weather conditions of the area, as well as suitable double-glazed windows at a suitable height, both to maintain an average temperature and for the existence of natural lighting inside each cell.
The cell-yard communication is through a low opening in a suitable dimension for the animals.
The communication openings of the cells with their forecourts have a special system of pulleys to serve the needs of the dogs and facilitate the stable.
Also, the outside space has been designed, appropriately with large areas for individual or group play of the guest dogs.
There is suitable fencing 2.30m high with fixed mesh for animal safety.
